Why capybaras? 🥭
Capybaras are not only adorable and social animals, but they also play a unique role in nature.🍌 In Cute and Aggressive, we aim to highlight the importance of wildlife conservation and bring visibility to these amazing animals through our games. 🌳
For this one, we designed the game to reflect their natural behaviors, incorporating fruits they actually eat in the wild. 🥭Each fruit illustration in the game includes its natural growth environment, showing the trees and plants where these fruits originate.
We believe it’s possible to create a fun experience while also educating players about capybaras and their ecosystem. 👓 And we intent to keep doing this with future games (that hopefully are coming preeeetty soon 🫣).
What materials is the game made of? 🎲
Our game is made with high-quality materials, including:
- Terrain tiles, Hot Baths, and Fruit tokens: High-density cardboard.
- Cards: Standard-size cards (310gsm Black core card)
- Capybara figurines: Durable acrylic standees.
- Die: Wood. (Round corners)
We carefully selected these materials to ensure a premium feel and a great gaming experience.
Is it true this started with a crowdfunding campaign? 🤔
Partially, yes. Although it started waaaaaaay before when our friend group was playing board games into the late hours of the night and eventually we decided to create one ourselves...
But technically yes, we launched a campaign in Backerkit back in February 2025 hoping to at least reach 10,000 USD to start production for our little capybara game and the response was OVERWHELMING. All in all, we raised +21k USD (on the post-sale) and although it took longer than expected, our first production batch is finally here and you can get your own copy now, here.
Is it true there is a capybara song? 🎶
Yeeeees!! We created this with a group of artists in Guadalajara, during the creation of our crowdfunding campaign. We listen to it regularly, while we're packing your games and thinking of new game ideas.
